A bilingual website is not simply a translated menu. Each market has different language, expectations, payment methods, currencies, regulations and concerns. The goal is to create coordinated experiences that feel natural in each market.

Choose URL architecture before content

A folder structure such as /fa/ and /en/ is clear for many projects. Each language needs a distinct URL so search engines can index the correct version and visitors can switch to the equivalent page.

Localization is more than translation

Services, units, dates, examples, tone and calls to action should feel natural in the destination market. Commercial and legal terminology should be reviewed by someone familiar with the domain.

Configure hreflang and document language

Use accurate hreflang for equivalent pages and set the HTML language. Each version should generally canonicalize to itself rather than all languages pointing to one canonical page.

Currencies, pricing and payment

Define display currency, conversion updates, banking costs and tax responsibility. Offer payment methods that are usable and compliant in the target market.

Fulfillment and export expectations

Clearly communicate supported countries, B2B incoterms, freight, insurance, customs, prohibited goods and delivery timing. Ambiguous international delivery promises create dissatisfaction.

Build local trust

Present company details, registration, contact methods, returns and privacy in a way the destination audience understands. Verifiable work and agreements reduce perceived risk.

Research SEO separately for each market

People do not always search literal translations. Keyword, competitor and intent research should be conducted independently for every language and market.

International launch checklist

Test language switching, equivalent links, forms, fonts, directionality, email, currencies, payment, policies and mobile layouts. Measure traffic and conversion separately for each market.
